I think...

the greatest song ever written is In My Life by the Beatles.
white teeth make everyone look better.
if you didn't cry at the end of Of Mice and Men, you should read it properly.
Sophie Bourne is growing up too fast.
Kevin was the hottest Backstreet Boy all along.
my loyalty lies with my high school teams above university teams.
i'll never be a cool blogger.
Thayne Davis is the most handsome boy every born.
my mom is amazing.

double whammy!

can you believe it?! two posts in one day.  that means I don't have to post for, what, a year? well, good 'ole Thayner and I said goodbye to the civilized world and ventured into the magical world of Yellowstone!

one of these things is impressive, the other is not so much.  guess which one.

I was surprisingly wary of the buffalo.  maybe because they are HUGE and fast.  or maybe because there are signs all over the park saying that people are gored by buffalo all the time...who knows.
the "grand canyon of yellowstone" was probably my favorite.  it was so huge and spacious, it made me nervous.
i love nature.  it is neat.
I think we spent $3.89 on food the entire trip.  Here we are with some gourmet top ramen.  The only other food we subsisted on was a tupperware bowl full of cookies I baked the day before.
we camped right under this sign.  we still have all of our original limbs, never fear.

I don't have much to say about our living conditions except that it is probably one of our better wedding gifts.  it was completely bear-proof, but not mouse-proof.  I kept waking up to Thayner slapping the sides of the tent cause our little mouse friend was playing ring-around-the-rosie all night.
nice rack! (we had an over-abundance of "nice rack" and "grand teton" jokes this trip)
there was also an over-abundance of actual racks in Jackson for their annual rack-sale.  I feel like they could spice it up and have a "Ms. Jackson Rack" competition.  make it a little more enjoyable for the men-folk.

animals galore.  here is our elk friend,
 our grizzly friend,
 our tree-climbing black friend,
 our stampeding friends,
 our traffic-jam friends,
 our baby friend,
 our wolf friend,
 our howling friend,
our sibling friends,
 our mama friend,
and our old man friend who I made Thayne stay behind at all times while watching this bear, so that the old man would be eaten instead of Thayne.  Is that wrong?
this friend was as big as our car.

coyotes aren't my favorite animal, but I shot this picture and I believe that it belongs in national geographic
maybe our coolest moment was watching this grizzly bear chase this herd of elk at full speed for 30 seconds, then lose his breath and stalk them for 10 minutes and give up and walk away.

we felt so grateful to be able to see and experience all of this nature.  Jackson, the Tetons, and Yellowstone were all more than we could've ever hoped for!
so, the whole trip, I would always tell Thayne to stop the car because I "spotted" an animal...usually a bear.  100% of the time, it was a sitting buffalo, a tree, or a rock.  The moose above was the only legitimate animal I spotted all by myself and at first I thought it was a beaver in a tree eating it. wow.

it's been a while...

why, hello! it's been a while.
A poem that made all of us laugh for 12 minutes.
bigger and better with the YM/YW.  of course we won with our FUNCTIONING GRILL.  they are the bomb and Thayner and I both love our callings.

jamesy graduated! We are so proud of him and his amazing animation skills.  Elder Oaks spoke at graduation and I remembered why I loved B

Sara Davis had an amazingly beautiful and fun baby shower and then proceeded to have an amazingly beautiful baby.  Winnie Davis is such a perfect adorable little babesties and we are stoked to have her in the family.
this will excite no one but me, but our wonderful landlords did something about the hard water and now my head doesn't hang in shame when we offer someone a glass of water.

we were uncle Ricos for a few weeks while the Oly Titan men's soccer team dominated all the way through the state championships and won state.  epic.  if only we could go back...:)

say hello to OUR baby.  '91 Mazda Miata Davis is her name.  Looking amazingly legit is her game.  This car (aka go-cart covered in red paint) makes us laugh and feel waay cooler than we actually are.

quick trip to Cali with the married davis clan.  we are romantic.

we ate like starving moose the whole time,

did some house watching on balboa island,
did baptisms,
and watched kids get dominated at the WEDGE.

after California, I decided that our $2.99 bacon just wasn't cutting it.  okay, this picture really just exists to bug my husband.  one day (2 months into marriage), I came home and told him I bought bacon for him; he was stoked and asked how much it costs.  $5.99.  After his conniption, I never bought bacon over $3.00 again. But one day, I know we'll be rich enough to put these strips of deliciousness in our breakfast burritos.  one day...

this lady had her hey-day and has inspired me to wear sunscreen for the rest of my  life.

and finally, today.  This cute boy took a Sunday nap on my...bosoms.  I thought it was cute until he woke up and I remembered he has a drooling problem.  For this reason, and this reason alone is my chest displayed on this blog.  drool.

anywho, for those 2 readers out there who like to check up on us...there we are.  we are just living it up in our basement, learning some new things, going to some wonderful places, loving our neighborhood and ward, and enjoying family and friends.  life is good and we are grateful to be where we are.
